What Happens at Your Appointment
Consultation
We begin with an examination of your teeth, gums and bite, along with photographs and digital X-rays where needed. We talk about your goals, explain the benefits and limitations of composite veneers and provide a clear quote.
Treatment
On the day of treatment, the tooth surface is cleaned and lightly prepared. Where needed, local anaesthetic is used to keep you comfortable, although many patients do not require it. The composite resin is applied in thin layers, each one shaped and set with a curing light. Once the shape is complete, the veneers are refined and polished.
Review
Before you leave, we check your bite and the appearance of your veneers with you. A short review appointment may be recommended to make any fine adjustments.
Aftercare and Ongoing Care
Brush twice daily with a soft toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste, and clean between your teeth each day. Limit highly staining foods and drinks, such as coffee, tea and red wine, and rinse with water afterwards. Avoid biting hard objects, and consider a custom mouthguard for contact sport. Regular check-ups and cleans allow us to polish and maintain your veneers.
